WedgeTalk Rules - Effective January 5th, 2007

This is the "WedgeTalk.com" posting policy, which will be updated, without formal notification, as the need arises:

===================================================

General Rules.... These rules apply to ALL forums.

===================================================

1: I supply the servers, bandwidth and offer the membership to everyone free of charge. (Pretty good deal!) I have delegated moderators to help monitor this site, therefore, I and they make the rules. This is not a democracy. It is a benevolent oligarchy. The admins are allowed to bend, amend, delete, modify, or outright ignore any rule as they see fit, with no explanation to anyone other than his or her fellow admins.

This is important...you have no First Amendment rights on this site. The admins right to free speech is protected on this site, not yours.

Mini-civics lesson: The First Amendment of the US Constitution restricts government, not private citizens, from infringing on your right to free speech. On this web site, your speech is a privilege. On YOUR web site your speech is a right. Learn the distinction.

2: Absolutely NO racism. if you think Adolf Hitler is a cool guy, or it's cool to crack jokes on any race, you're not welcome here. Your account and post *WILL* be deleted ...

3: No name calling. Have some respect for your fellow members. If we get into specifics, this list would never end. Just use common sense. Don't imply or state that someone stupid, for example. If you call someone's post stupid, you must explain why. Attack the argument, not the person.

4: For any reason, at any time, and depending on the admins mood, your comment may be deleted or edited with or without an explanation or warning. Post on this board at your own risk. If you insist on an explanation, you may get one. But you may earn a timeout or outright ban in the process. If you still don't like it, tell your story walking.

5: We reserve the right to edit or delete any comment for any reason. If we edit your comment, we will add a notation, such as "Edited by the Admin" or "Nice try, troll!"

6: You get one warning before you are banned, although there are exceptions (If we really like you, you'll get three warnings.). Being banned from this domain means your ISP is blocked from accessing the entire site.

7*: No Politics. If you want to post political arguments, go elsewhere. A lot of times threads will start to skirt the line of politics. It is the admin's discretion on how far to let it go. If it disappears, someone crossed the line. If you bring it back up, you risk earning a timeout or ban.

8*: No Religion. You can say "Oh God!" or something like that. But if you start preaching/quoting scripture, no matter what religion, we will kill your thread and possibly impose a timeout or ban.

(* The two things I've found in life that are impossible to change someone's mind about are Politics and Religion. They are also two ways that you can turn a friend into someone you despise in a hurry. Stay away from both, and we're all in good shape.)

9: No Porn. This is an open forum. So we need to keep it clean. Any violations of this rule will earn you a ban.

10: Avatars and posted pictures have to be PG-13. This includes pictures attached to signatures.

11: Off Topics posts are welcome, but we ask that you put them in the "Club House" section.

12: My network administrators take ANY threat (joking or otherwise) very seriously. We report all threats to the appropriate authorities. This may be your Network Administrator, Boss, Wife, Mother, or Teacher. There have been SEVERAL people that lost scholorships and jobs as a result of trying to get cute by thretening to or attempting to hack this site. Think before acting. Sometimes you don't get a warning shot.

==================================================

If you don't like these rules, don't let the virtual door hit you in your virtual butt on the way out.

In reality, nothing here has changed. The rules posted here is a written version of what we have always informally enforced. All we are doing is formalizing them.

==================================================

With all that being said....have fun!
